Bollywood star Sonu Sood is stepping up big time for flood victims in Punjab. The actor, famous for his generous heart, is helping families whose homes got wrecked by the recent heavy rains. He’s urging everyone to keep the support going for months ahead, as the real recovery work kicks in now.

Talking to the media in Jaipur, Sonu painted a tough picture of Punjab’s flood situation. “The water levels are dropping, but the damage to houses and roads is massive,” he said. “People need help right away. We’ve listed families with destroyed homes and are reaching out to them one by one.”

Sonu has shared helpline numbers across Punjab’s flood-hit areas so folks can call for quick aid. “We’ll tackle their needs as they come up,” he added. “Shoutout to everyone pitching in—you’re doing amazing! But the big push comes in the next six months. We’ve set up permanent helplines and are sending teams to those in real trouble.”

He’s thrilled with how the Punjab government and everyday heroes, like Punjabi singers and actors, are teaming up for relief efforts. Sonu highlighted the scale: nearly 2,000 villages hit hard, plus 4.5 lakh acres of farmland ruined. “There’s so much damage, but everyone’s spirit is high. We’re all in this together, working to rebuild Punjab stronger,” he shared.

Sonu praised the united front: “When disasters like this strike, it’s not just the government’s job—individuals must step up too.” He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for visiting Punjab and called on all political parties to back the recovery. “Punjab has bounced back from tough times before with central help. With PM Modi’s support, we’ll make this journey easier and get the state on its feet again.”

During visits to affected villages, Sonu felt the warmth from locals despite their struggles. “They welcomed us with open arms, even in these hard conditions,” he said, boosting his drive to keep helping.

The floods have taken a heavy toll—latest reports show 1,98,525 hectares of crops damaged, worst in districts like Gurdaspur (40,169 hectares), Fazilka (25,182 hectares), and Patiala (17,690 hectares). Sadly, Punjab’s Revenue Minister Hardeep Singh confirmed 56 deaths so far from the floods.

Sonu’s hands-on approach shows why he’s a go-to philanthropist in times of crisis, inspiring more people to join Punjab flood relief efforts.
