Israel’s cutting-edge Iron Beam laser system has passed a major test with flying colors. The Israel Defence Ministry, along with the Defence Intelligence Agency, Israel Air Force, and defence tech giant Rafael, wrapped up weeks of intense operational trials on this powerful weapon. The goal? To show just how effective the Iron Beam laser can be in real-world battles.
Elbit Systems, the Israeli company behind the laser’s core tech, played a key role in the project too. According to the Defence Ministry’s statement, the Iron Beam laser system shone bright by taking down rockets, mortars, and drones with precision. It handled a mix of threats, including rockets, aircraft, and unmanned drones, proving its worth in tough operational scenarios.
This breakthrough in laser defence technology means the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) will get their first Iron Beam units by the end of the year. It’s a big step forward for Israel’s air defence arsenal, blending high-tech lasers with proven interception power to tackle modern threats head-on.
