Congress Leader Karti Chidambaram Backs Rahul Gandhi’s Vote Theft Claims, Urges Election Commission Probe

In Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram has come out strongly in support of Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of vote theft in elections. Speaking to on Wednesday, September 18, Chidambaram called on the Election Commission of India (ECI) to investigate these serious claims instead of brushing them aside.

"Rahul Gandhi is raising very legitimate questions," Chidambaram said. He pointed out major issues with the voter lists across the country. According to him, many genuine voters are getting their names deleted, while fake or fictitious voters are being added to the rolls. This, he believes, points to serious flaws in the electoral process.

Chidambaram highlighted a shocking example from the Mahadevapura constituency in Karnataka. "At one single address, the Election Commission claims more than 68 people are living there," he said. He also mentioned voters with "ridiculous names" popping up on the lists, making the entire electoral roll suspect. "Rahul Gandhi has been backing this up with solid data," Chidambaram added. He stressed that the ECI must step in to fix these problems, especially the suspicious deletions of legitimate names.

This comes amid growing concerns over election irregularities and voter list manipulation in India. Chidambaram’s comments add fuel to the ongoing debate about the integrity of the voting system.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Pawan Khera announced that Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, will hold a press briefing today, September 18, at 10 AM at Indira Bhawan Auditorium in Delhi. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Khera invited the media to arrive by 9:30 AM. While he didn’t detail the agenda, the briefing is likely to dive deeper into Gandhi’s claims of vote theft and irregularities in the voting process.

Just a couple of weeks ago, on September 1, Rahul Gandhi had warned the BJP about a major revelation. Speaking at the end of the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Patna, Bihar, he promised to drop a "hydrogen bomb" on his vote theft allegations. "What we showed about Mahadevpura was just an atom bomb," Gandhi said, taking sharp jabs at the BJP.

Gandhi didn’t hold back in his speech. He accused forces behind Mahatma Gandhi’s murder of now trying to destroy Dr. BR Ambedkar’s Constitution. "We won’t let them destroy India’s Constitution," he declared. He thanked the people of Bihar, especially the youth, for their support during the yatra. Turning to the BJP, he said, "Get ready – after this hydrogen bomb, Narendra Modi ji won’t be able to show his face to the country."

As Rahul Gandhi prepares to speak out, all eyes are on how the Election Commission responds to these election fraud claims. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story about voter rights and democracy in India.
