India and the UAE are taking their economic ties to the next level, as Union Minister Piyush Goyal shared exciting updates from the 13th meeting of the UAE-India High-Level Joint Task Force on Investments in Abu Dhabi. Speaking at the event, Goyal stressed that the two nations aren’t rivals—they’re true partners who lift each other up for shared growth.
In a big move, Goyal announced that India and the UAE will team up to build infrastructure projects in third countries, with a special focus on mining and housing. He pointed out how this plays to their strengths: India’s tech savvy, skilled workforce, and young talent combined with the UAE’s strong investment muscle. “Together, we can unlock so many new opportunities,” Goyal said. “We talked about the possibilities today and will keep building on them.”
The ministers also picked key sectors to boost trade between the countries, including textiles, fisheries, pharmaceuticals, leather goods, food processing, and home decor. Goyal added, “There’s no competition here—we support each other fully. These areas will help us expand our trade even more.”
Goyal co-chaired the meeting with Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). This comes as the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership grows stronger in areas like trade, technology, energy, defence, and food security. The UAE stands out as one of India’s top strategic allies, backed by solid political ties and deep economic links.
Earlier, the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) Council kicked off a Start-up Series that drew over 10,000 applications from Indian entrepreneurs in just 50 days. This program is speeding up the global reach of Indian startups, showing how the partnership fuels innovation and business growth.
