Trump Sparks Fresh Clash with London Mayor Sadiq Khan During UK Visit

US President Donald Trump didn’t hold back during his recent state visit to the United Kingdom, firing fresh shots at London Mayor Sadiq Khan in their ongoing feud. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, Trump revealed he personally requested that Khan stay away from the grand state banquet held in his honor.

"I didn’t want him there," Trump said bluntly. "I asked for him not to be there. Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, wasn’t welcomed, and he did not attend." He even claimed Khan had shown interest in joining the event but got the boot anyway.

Trump didn’t stop there. He slammed Khan as one of the "worst mayors in the world," pointing fingers at rising crime rates and immigration policies in London. "Crime in London is through the roof," Trump added. "Mayor Khan has done a terrible job, and on immigration, he’s a disaster."

These sharp words came right before Trump wrapped up his UK trip on Thursday. As he and First Lady Melania Trump headed out of London, their helicopter hit a snag—a minor hydraulic issue forced an early landing at a local airfield. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained it was all out of caution. The couple safely switched to a backup helicopter, but it delayed their arrival at Stansted Airport. No one was hurt, and the incident didn’t derail the day’s plans.

Later that day, Trump teamed up with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer for a joint press conference, wrapping up the visit on a high note. He took a moment to praise his strong ties with India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "I’m very close to India. I’m very close to the Prime Minister of India," Trump said. "Spoke to him the other day, wished him a happy birthday. We have a very good relationship." He even joked about past sanctions on India while noting Modi’s kind response.

Shifting gears to global hotspots, Trump turned his attention to the Russia-Ukraine war. He expressed disappointment in Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying, "He has let me down. I mean, he’s killing many people, and he’s losing more people than he’s killing." Trump pointed out that Russian soldiers are dying at a higher rate than Ukrainian ones.

Trump boasted that the conflict wouldn’t have started on his watch. "This was a thing that would have never happened had I been president," he insisted. "If I were president, it would have never happened. And it didn’t happen for four years." He admitted he once thought ending the war would be straightforward, but reality proved otherwise.

Trump’s UK visit highlighted his trademark straight-talk style, blending personal jabs, travel hiccups, and big-picture talks on India relations and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. As always, his comments are sure to stir debate across the Atlantic.
