In New Delhi on World Senior Citizens Day, Goodfellows India teamed up with Friends Adult Diapers to host a joyful bash that brought over 100 seniors and 150 young friends together at MIG Club in Bandra. The event turned into a lively festival of life, complete with singing, dancing, and endless laughter, showing everyone how the golden years can sparkle with connection and fun.
Picture this: seniors and their younger companions jumping into spontaneous karaoke duets, forming energetic dance circles, and chatting away like old pals. It was all about building intergenerational friendships and proving that age is just a number when joy takes center stage.
Goodfellows India, India’s first senior citizens companionship startup founded by Shantanu Naidu, Niki Thakur, and Gargi Sandu, nailed their mission once again. They create safe spaces where seniors feel valued, linked up, and truly celebrated—perfect for World Senior Citizens Day events that fight loneliness and boost happiness.
The fun kicked off with a hands-on perfume-making workshop. Seniors mixed scents like pros, blending notes to craft personalized fragrances. Laughter echoed as stories flowed, and everyone walked away with a custom perfume that captured their unique vibe— a great way to add some self-care to senior citizens activities.
Friends Adult Diapers, the event’s community partner, added an empowering punch with their “Punch the Stigma” activity. Seniors slipped on boxing gloves and took swings at real-life ageing challenges like loneliness, incontinence, ageism, dependency, and isolation. Each hit symbolized breaking free, turning whispers into cheers. One standout moment came from Smita Shah, a Goodfellows community member, who shouted, “I am breaking the stigma of loneliness, only thanks to Goodfellows!” before delivering her punch. It was pure empowerment in action, highlighting how adult diapers and companionship tackle ageing stigma head-on.
Keeping the energy high, Friends wowed the crowd with a quick demo of Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP)—the magic stuff inside their adult diapers. They poured water into a cup of SAP, and poof, it turned into a gel solid right before everyone’s eyes. Seniors gasped, laughed, and guessed how it worked, sparking lively talks about diaper effectiveness and everyday solutions for seniors.
The party wouldn’t be complete without music, so the talented Womaniaz Band led an open mic karaoke session. Seniors and young folks belted out retro hits, clapped along, and swayed to the beats, transforming the club into a buzzing concert hall full of shared memories and smiles.
As the day wrapped up, attendees didn’t just leave with homemade perfumes and photos—they carried new bonds, cherished moments, and hearts brimming with warmth.
