In Jodhpur, students gathered at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya on Saturday to watch a special short film about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inspiring life story. The screening kicked off nationwide celebrations for PM Modi’s birthday on September 17, highlighting his journey from humble roots to global leadership.
The 30-minute film captivated the students, showing how Modi prioritizes national service over personal gains. School principal Ashok Kumar praised the event, telling reporters, “It’s a great initiative to show kids a movie on PM Modi. It teaches them to focus on societal goals and find purpose in contributing to India’s growth.”
Students shared their takeaways too. Rajni, one of the viewers, said, “It’s a good biography—I learned a lot from it.” Her classmate Priyanshi Bhati added, “The film was quite inspiring and gave us a glimpse into his dedication.”
Born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, Narendra Modi grew up in a simple family. His father, Damodardas Mulchand Modi, sold tea at a railway station stall, while his mother, Heeraben, managed the home. Modi has four brothers—Soma, Amrit, Prahlad, and Pankaj—and a sister, Vasantiben.
At 17, Modi left home to explore India, later joining the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a key socio-cultural group. He started his days at 5 a.m. and drew inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s ideas on spirituality and service.
Modi married Jashodaben in 1968, but the couple has no children and lives separately. In 1985, he entered politics with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He served as Gujarat’s Chief Minister from 2001 to 2014, winning four terms. Since May 26, 2014, Modi has led India as its 14th Prime Minister, now in his third straight term.
Events like this film screening aim to spark a sense of national pride and encourage young people to help India become a world leader.
