Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has slammed the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia for recognizing a Palestinian state, vowing that no such state will ever form west of the Jordan River. In a fiery statement from his office, Netanyahu promised a strong response after his current trip to the United States.
“There will be no Palestinian state,” Netanyahu declared. He accused the leaders of rewarding terrorism with a huge prize, especially after the brutal October 7 massacre by Hamas. “For years, I’ve blocked the creation of that terror state despite massive pressure at home and abroad,” he added. Netanyahu highlighted his government’s efforts to double Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria, and he said they plan to keep pushing forward with smart diplomacy.
The three countries announced their coordinated recognition of Palestine on Sunday, pushing for a two-state solution to the long-standing Israel-Palestine conflict. They also demanded that Hamas end its operations right away. Australia’s Prime Minister’s Office explained the move by saying it honors the Palestinian people’s deep-rooted dream of an independent state.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry quickly condemned the decision, calling it a one-sided step that threatens regional security and kills any hope for real peace. “This doesn’t bring stability—it makes things worse and hurts chances for a future agreement,” the ministry stated.
Netanyahu’s tough stance underscores Israel’s firm opposition to unilateral moves on the Palestinian state issue, amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
