Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath kicked off his week with a bustling Janta Darshan in Gorakhpur on Monday. He sat down with locals, carefully listening to their everyday problems and promises to sort them out.
In the spirit of the season, CM Yogi shared warm Navratri wishes with everyone. Posting on X, he said: “Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all devotees and residents of the state on the sacred festival of worship and adoration of Maa Bhagwati Jagadamba, Shardiya Navratri! May Mother bless everyone with happiness, health, and prosperity. Happy Navratri! Jai Mata Ki!”
The day before, on Sunday, Yogi Adityanath praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s latest moves on GST reforms. He called it a “historic Diwali gift” for India and Uttar Pradesh, easing taxes on daily essentials while cracking down harder on drugs and unnecessary luxuries.
During the launch of the NaMo Yuva Run—a marathon pushing for a Drug-Free India—right from his residence, CM Yogi flagged off the event. The run started at Kalidas Marg and headed to the 1,090 Intersection. He spotlighted the GST Council’s changes from September 3, which rolled out across the country that very day.
“These reforms will tame inflation for the poor, make education cheaper, and put more money in people’s pockets,” Yogi said. He explained how they boost markets, spark new jobs, and pave the way for growth. Traders get support, the needy find relief, and everyday consumers win big. He called on everyone in Uttar Pradesh to spread the word about these benefits.
Yogi also tied the reforms to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s nationwide Seva Pakhwada, running from September 17—PM Modi’s birthday—to October 2, Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. He stressed self-reliance as key to progress, noting that a healthy society builds a strong one. Events like the NaMo Yuva Run give young people fresh energy and purpose.
“Join these runs with discipline and pride—it’s your biggest strength,” the Chief Minister urged the youth, firing them up with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai!”
Joining him were BJP State President Bhupendra Chaudhary, Sports Minister Girish Chandra Yadav, Mayor Sushma Kharwal, MLA Yogesh Shukla, Neeraj Bora, OP Srivastava, and other local leaders.
