Mumbai’s big sustainability push took center stage at the Sustainability Convergence Summit & Awards 2025, held at ITC Grand Central in Parel. Organized by Eternal Corporate Media under Managing Director Alok Ranjan Tiwari, the event gathered top Indian business leaders and green advocates to map out a path for a developed and eco-friendly India.

Jayant Sinha, former Union Minister and President of Eversource Capital, kicked things off as chief guest with a keynote on “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) and “Harit Bharat” (Green India). He stressed that sustainable growth has to be at the heart of India’s progress and revealed plans for a high-level Sustainability Task Force. This group of industry experts will guide the Indian government on green policies.

Nadir Godrej, Chairman and Managing Director of Godrej Industries Group, and Pradip Shah, Non-Executive Chairman of Pfizer India and BASF India, plus Co-Founder of GrowTrees.com, joined as guests of honor. Godrej shared a moving poem on health, education, and the environment, while Shah spotlighted GrowTrees.com’s efforts in tree planting and water conservation across the country.

The summit shone a light on corporate heroes with its awards ceremony. Godrej picked up the Lifetime Sustainability Leadership Award. Motilal Oswal, CEO and Co-Founder of Motilal Oswal Group, earned the Lifetime Social Stewardship Award. Radha Goenka, Director of RPG Foundation, and Mayank Gandhi, Founder and Chairman of Global Vikas Trust, both received Transformative Leadership Awards in Community Upliftment. Shah rounded it out with the Lifetime Impact Award for Environmental Stewardship.

Shailesh Haribhakti, a top governance and sustainability expert who chairs several major boards, co-hosted and opened the event. He warned that climate change isn’t some far-off threat—it’s a real business risk right now. Rising temperatures could hit profits hard, he said, and businesses must blend artificial intelligence with sustainability to stay ahead. “Sustainability isn’t optional; it’s essential for survival and growth,” Haribhakti declared.

Pooja Bajaj, Executive Director for CSR and ESG at Bajaj Electricals Limited, gave a standout presentation on her company’s green initiatives. She explained how Bajaj weaves environmental care, community support, and strong governance into its business plans, proving Indian firms can chase profits while doing good.

Amisha Vora, Chairperson and Managing Director of PL Capital Group, delivered a keynote urging India to build its goal of a $10 trillion economy by 2030 on solid sustainable foundations. She praised Haribhakti and Tiwari for fostering a space where policymakers, businesses, and sustainability experts connect.

Tiwari welcomed everyone by calling the summit a team effort to boost India’s green growth story. “Sustainability is the future, not just a choice,” he said, pushing companies and leaders to weave in climate action and inclusive development everywhere.

Two lively panel discussions kept the energy high. The first, “Viksit Bharat: Navigating through Green Transition,” was led by ET Now anchor Avanne Dubash. Panelists included Suresh Manglani of Adani Total Gas, Alok Aggarwal of Brookfield Properties, Arvind Bansal of Continuum Green Energy, Ishver Dholakiya of Goldi Solar, Purvi Sheth of Shilputsi Consultants, and Jyoti Prakash Gadia of Resurgent India. They tackled how India can shift to a greener economy without missing a beat.

The second panel, “Financing India Green Transition,” moderated by Vora, featured finance heavyweights like A. Balasubramanian of Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, Saurabh Nanavati of Invesco Mutual Fund, Anthony Heredia of Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund, Shachindra Nath of UGRO Capital, and Kamala K of BSE. They called for fresh funding ideas, global investments, and smarter policies to fuel sustainable development in India.

The event wrapped up with Deepshikha Lalchand, Head of ESG Solutions at GovEva, launching a White Paper on Climate Change. It breaks down how climate impacts hit Indian businesses and pushes companies to adopt full-on sustainability strategies.

Kripa Shankar Tiwari, Chairman of Eternal Corporate Media, gave the vote of thanks before guests mingled at a networking dinner. This summit didn’t just hand out awards—it ignited real momentum for a greener, stronger India.
