Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off the second day of the Navratri festival by offering prayers to Goddess Brahmacharini, asking for her blessings to bring courage and calm to all devotees across India.
In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), Modi shared, “On this Navratri, today, millions of salutations at the feet of Maa Brahmacharini! May the Goddess Mother bless all her devotees with courage and restraint.” He also posted a beautiful Devi Stuti, a set of spiritual chants, to honor the occasion and inspire his followers.
The Sharadiya Navratri festival lights up Hindu homes and temples for nine vibrant nights, celebrating the power of Goddess Durga and her divine feminine energy. It falls in the lunar month of Ashwin, drawing millions into a whirlwind of worship, colorful rituals, and lively cultural events. Each day spotlights a unique form of the goddess, highlighting strengths like power, kindness, and wisdom.
Yesterday, September 22, marked the first day with devotion to Maa Shailputri. Devotees dive into the festivities with fasting, soulful bhajans, and energetic dances like Garba and Dandiya, filling the air with joy and community spirit.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah joined the fun in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, dancing Garba at events organized by local resident groups on Monday. “On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, I participated in the Navratri Garba festival at Vrajdham Apartment and Orchid Legacy in Ahmedabad Sarkhej Ward and received the blessings of Mother Goddess,” Shah wrote on X, sharing his excitement.
Just a day earlier, Modi visited the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Tripura, where he prayed for the well-being and prosperity of all Indians. He launched key development projects at the temple complex under the government’s PRASAD scheme, aimed at reviving pilgrimage sites and spiritual heritage.
