Congress to hold CWC meeting in Patna tomorrow for Bihar Assembly polls

Patna’s Sadaqat Ashram buzzes with excitement as the Congress Working Committee (CWC) gears up for a major meeting on Wednesday. Top leaders from the Indian National Congress will gather to map out their plans for the Bihar Assembly elections and tackle pressing political issues.
Just ahead of the event, Congress National General Secretary K.C. Venugopal shared a post on X, calling the occasion “historic.” He put Bihar front and center, noting the state’s deep ties to the party’s past. “Bihar’s rich history and legacy will take center stage,” Venugopal wrote, pointing to giants like Mahatma Gandhi’s Champaran Satyagraha and leaders such as Rajendra Prasad and Babu Jagjivan Ram.
Venugopal framed the meeting as a stand for Bihar’s future. He contrasted the Congress vision of hope, social justice, and development with what he sees as the other side’s spread of hatred, violence, unemployment, and threats to the Constitution. “We’re here to show Bihar our commitment to its people,” he added.
He didn’t hold back on criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of election tricks like the “botched up SIR” process—short for Special Intensive Revision—which he labeled as “vote chori” or vote theft. Venugopal gave a shoutout to the recent Voter Adhikar Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, Bihar Opposition Leader Tejashwi Yadav, and other INDIA bloc partners. The march, he said, exposed the BJP’s shady tactics and rallied people against election rigging.
More than 170 key figures are set to join, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and chief ministers like Karnataka’s Siddaramaiah, Telangana’s A. Revanth Reddy, and Himachal Pradesh’s Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. You’ll also spot veterans such as Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot, and Shashi Tharoor.
Expect the group to approve resolutions on hot topics like inflation, unemployment, women’s safety, and electoral reforms. They’ll also hammer out seat-sharing deals within the INDIA bloc to strengthen their push in the Bihar Assembly elections.
