‘The Bengal Files’ actress Anubha Arora on if it is right to protest against films before watching

Mumbai actress Anubha Arora shares her thoughts on film protests and her experience working on ‘The Bengal Files’. She believes people should watch a film before criticizing it, rather than judging prematurely. Anubha explained, “It’s like judging a book by its cover. Films might have layers you don’t see at first, so it’s better to experience it first and then form an opinion.”

Recently, ‘The Bengal Files’ faced controversy, with some screenings canceled and an FIR filed against the film’s director, Vivek Agnihotri. The case alleges that Agnihotri wrongly called freedom fighter Gopal Mukherjee, also known as Gopal Patha, a butcher. When asked if political pressure caused these issues, Anubha said she wasn’t present during the incidents and couldn’t comment in detail.

Anubha also opened up about her journey to get the role in ‘The Bengal Files’. She revealed that she was cast through a process involving auditions and a look test, which she found smooth and confidence-boosting. “Tarun Bajaj Casting brought the role to me. I auditioned on different scripts and finally got the part after a look test. I was really happy with how everything went,” she shared.

Talking about her role and on-set experience, Anubha mentioned both she and Vivek Agnihotri took their work seriously. “Vivek is a visionary director who knows exactly what he wants. I was focused too because my character was very emotional and needed deep preparation. It was a dedicated and serious environment for both of us,” she said.

Stay tuned for more updates on ‘The Bengal Files’ and the ongoing discussions around its release.
