In Jaipur, Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a symbol of all-round development in India. He pointed to the rising popularity of the Vande Bharat Express trains, which people now affectionately call “Modi’s Train.”
PM Modi virtually launched three new semi-high-speed trains on Thursday, including the Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express, the Bikaner-Delhi Vande Bharat Express, and the Udaipur-Chandigarh semi-high-speed train. The event kicked off at Jodhpur Railway Station, where crowds gathered alongside Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Shekhawat, and other leaders. Everyone hailed it as a game-changer for Rajasthan’s railway connectivity.
Shekhawat highlighted how the new Jodhpur-Delhi route, which runs through Jaipur, will deliver fast, comfortable, and modern travel for passengers. “It will supercharge tourism in Jodhpur, our vibrant Sun City,” he said, linking the train to boosted economic growth in the region.
He called the Vande Bharat Express a true emblem of Atmanirbhar Bharat, or self-reliant India, because it’s fully made in India with homegrown technology. This indigenous manufacturing showcases India’s advancing skills and push toward a developed economy driven by innovation.
The train promises a world-class ride from Jodhpur to Delhi Cantt via Jaipur—think quick speeds, plush seats, and top-notch amenities that rival global standards. Shekhawat stressed it goes beyond transport: “This isn’t just a train; it’s a symbol of the people’s love for Modi ji. That’s why folks call it Modi’s Train. This trust is Modi’s biggest guarantee.”
Shekhawat thanked Vaishnav for keeping a key promise to Jodhpur residents. The launch drew dignitaries like Pali MP P.P. Chaudhary, Rajya Sabha MP Rajendra Gehlot, Sursagar MLA Devendra Joshi, Jodhpur City MLA Atul Bhansali, District President Rajendra Paliwal, DRM Anurag Tripathi, plus BJP workers and railway staff.
To add a local flavor, Shekhawat and Vaishnav kicked off the Pali Kulhad initiative right there at the station. They sipped hot tea from traditional clay kulhads and even demoed digital payments, blending Rajasthan’s cultural roots with modern tech.
These new Vande Bharat trains and routes are set to transform Rajasthan’s rail network, ramping up tourism, improving connectivity, and fueling economic progress. It’s all part of PM Modi’s vision for a stronger, self-reliant India.
