Excitement is building for the horror comedy “Thama,” starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. The film’s makers at Maddock Films just dropped a thrilling trailer that’s got fans talking about this vampire-filled love story.

The trailer kicks off with Rashmika’s character, Tadaka, introducing Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Yakshasan as the world’s guardian. But Yakshasan turns rogue, aiming to become the powerful “Thama” himself. Enter Ayushmann’s Alok, who stumbles into this eerie realm after meeting Yakshasan. Things heat up with some sweet romantic sparks between Alok and Tadaka.

Suddenly, Alok transforms into a vampire—complete with no heartbeat and sharp fangs. The rest of the trailer dives into his wild journey, embracing the ups and downs of his supernatural life. It’s a mix of scares, laughs, and romance that promises a fresh twist on Indian cinema.

Maddock Films shared the trailer on social media, teasing a “forgotten legend from our folklore” that takes center stage this Diwali. They called it a “bloody love story” from the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, and directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. Catch it in theaters worldwide on October 21—trailer link in their bio.

The cast brings star power: Ayushmann as Alok, Rashmika as Tadaka, Nawazuddin as Yakshasan, Paresh Rawal as Ram Bajaj Goyal, and Sathyaraj as Elvis Karim Prabhakar, plus more.

Ayushmann shared his thrill with Variety.com, saying, “The fact that ‘Thama’ is the first love story of the horror comedy universe is all the more exciting.” He added, “The promise of it being a ‘bloody’ love story is also a supremely unique and compelling pitch for today’s audience who want clutter-breaking theatrical experiences. ‘Thama’ is that project, a total wildcard, a film that no one has seen in India. I’m really pumped to join the sets of this film and create a huge big screen experience with Dinesh and his entire team of fellow visionaries like Amar Kaushik, my director Aditya Sarpotdar, and the writing genius Niren Bhatt.”

Mark your calendars for “Thama” hitting screens on October 21, just in time for Diwali festivities. This Ayushmann Khurrana horror comedy with Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui looks set to deliver scares, laughs, and heart.
