Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher recently shared a heartwarming update from his visit to the famous Tirupati Balaji temple, calling it a truly blissful experience. He praised the incredible glory of India’s pilgrimage sites, highlighting how special they are for devotees.
In an Instagram video, Anupam spoke directly to the media about his trip. He wrote in the caption: "After having darshan of Tirupati Balaji, I felt immense bliss. The glory of our country’s pilgrimage sites is truly remarkable!" Adding more details, he noted, "It’s been many years since my last visit, and the progress everywhere from Tirupati to Tirumala is extraordinary. I prayed for all of you too! Jai Balaji!"
Shifting gears to his latest project, Anupam Kher’s inspiring film Tanvi The Great has returned to theaters on September 26 in select locations. The movie, which celebrates second chances, resonates deeply with Anupam’s own life story. In a recent video, the actor opened up about believing in fresh starts, saying, "Namaste friends, I truly believe in second chances—they can sometimes be even better than the first. Before I even entered films, life gave me one such opportunity."
Anupam, who has starred in over 500 movies, shared a personal throwback from his early career. He recalled getting fired from Mahesh Bhatt’s debut film Saaransh just 10 days before shooting began. The role went to the legendary Sanjeev Kumar, but Anupam fought back. "I went to Mahesh Bhatt and argued, ‘You’re making a film about truth. I’ve rehearsed for six months—how can you replace me now?’ I fought hard and even cried, but I got my second chance," he shared with emotion.
The film’s caption ties it all together: "Tanvi The Great is back in theaters. Second chances matter because they bring back courage, hope, and inspiration. Catch #TanviTheGreat starting September 26!"
Tanvi The Great boasts a stellar cast, including Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, Nasser, Anupam Kher, and Iain Glen. It features two Oscar winners: music director M.M. Keeravani and sound designer Resul Pookutty. Japanese cinematographer Keiko Nakahara brings stunning visuals to the screen.
The story follows Tanvi, a 21-year-old woman on the autism spectrum, living with her mother and grandfather. Drawing inspiration from her late father, Captain Samar Raina—an Indian Army officer—she dreams of saluting the national flag at the remote Siachen Glacier. This uplifting tale of determination and family bonds has touched many hearts since its initial release.
