In Pune, Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde lit up the crowd at the Swadeshi 4G Network launch on Saturday. He hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his sharp vision and iron will, crediting him with positioning India as a true Vishwaguru on the global stage.
“This is a massive Great Leap Forward,” Shinde declared. He called the event a key push toward self-reliance in telecom and a spark for India’s industrial revolution. Shinde didn’t hold back on the praise, saying Modi’s leadership has transformed the country’s tech landscape.
Shinde also gave a big shoutout to the team behind it all. He congratulated Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) officials for shouldering this telecom revolution and turning around a once-loss-making giant. “We’re thrilled to see BSNL charging ahead,” he added, while wishing Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and his crew continued success.
Taking a swipe at the opposition, Shinde pointed out the stark contrast in progress. “What the Congress couldn’t deliver in 60 years of rule, we’ve achieved in just the last decade,” he said. He promised even more development projects in the next 10 years, building on the momentum.
Looking ahead, Shinde stressed India’s steady march to become a developed nation by 2047. “Step by step, we’re getting there,” he assured the audience. Under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, he vowed, Maharashtra would play a starring role in this national journey.
The excitement kicked off earlier that day with a game-changer for India’s telecom sector. Celebrating 25 years of BSNL, PM Modi unveiled the country’s first fully indigenous 4G stack and over 97,500 BSNL towers. He launched it from Jharsuguda, with the towers lighting up states like Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Assam, Gujarat, and Bihar. This move boosts homegrown 4G networks and self-reliance across the nation.
