India’s cricket team delivered an exciting victory in the Asia Cup final, beating Pakistan by five wickets in a tense chase at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The win on Sunday marked Team India’s second T20I Asia Cup title and their ninth overall, including past ODI versions. Fans across the country celebrated as the team stayed undefeated against Pakistan throughout the tournament.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah shared his excitement on X, praising the team’s fierce performance. “A phenomenal victory,” he wrote. “The fierce energy of our boys blew up the rivals again. Bharat is destined to win no matter which field.” Shah highlighted how India’s determination shines in every arena.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also jumped in with congratulations on Twitter. He called it “#OperationSindoor on the games field. Outcome is the same – India wins! Congrats to our cricketers.” The reference nodded to India’s strong spirit, much like in other challenges.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar echoed the joy, posting on X: “Congrats to Team India on winning the Asia Cup. New India delivers.” His words captured the growing confidence of the nation.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta spoke to reporters late Sunday, calling the triumph a special moment during Navratri, the festival honoring Maa Durga. “From the bottom of my heart, my congratulations to the entire Indian cricket team for winning the Asia Cup,” she said. “India’s historic victory during this Navratri is a joyous occasion for the 144 crore people of India.”

On the field, Pakistan batted first after India won the toss and chose to bowl. Openers Sahidzada Farhan smashed 57 off 38 balls, with four fours and three sixes, while Fakhar Zaman added 46 off 35, including two fours and two sixes. Their 84-run partnership gave Pakistan a solid start, reaching 113 for one in 12.4 overs.

But India’s spinners turned the game around. Kuldeep Yadav starred with 4 wickets for 30 runs, and Varun Chakravarthy claimed 2 for 30 in the middle overs. Pakistan collapsed to 146 all out in 19.1 overs, with Jasprit Bumrah grabbing the last two wickets for 2 for 25.

Chasing 147, India stumbled early, slipping to 20 for 3 after Faheem Ashraf took 3 for 29. Tilak Varma steadied the ship with an unbeaten 69 off 53 balls, featuring three fours and four sixes. He built a crucial 57-run partnership with Sanju Samson, who scored 24 off 21 with two fours and a six. Shivam Dube then joined in, blasting 33 off 22 balls with two fours and two sixes to push India closer.

In his first Asia Cup match, Rinku Singh sealed the win with a boundary on the first ball of the final over. The victory capped a dominant run against Pakistan: a seven-wicket win in the group stage, six-wicket in the Super Four, and now five-wicket in the final. This Asia Cup triumph boosts India’s momentum heading into future tournaments.
