Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to bring big changes to Delhi’s water and sewage systems. On September 30, he’ll inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several Delhi Jal Board projects totaling more than Rs 1,800 crore. This exciting event kicks off at 11 a.m. and promises to make life easier for millions of Delhi residents.
In a post on X, Shah shared the news, calling it a “gift-filled day” for the city during the ongoing Seva Pakhwada—from September 17 to October 2. These initiatives include new sewage treatment plants, booster pumping stations, sewer lines, and household connections. “These projects will boost convenience for Delhi’s people through better clean water supply and a stronger sewerage network,” Shah wrote.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta echoed the enthusiasm on X, highlighting the Rs 1,816 crore worth of developments. She praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, saying it’s pushing Delhi toward becoming a “clean, self-reliant, and future-ready” capital. Gupta noted that these Delhi water projects and modern infrastructure will transform daily life for lakhs of families, marking key steps in improving the city’s facilities.
The Seva Pakhwada is a two-week BJP drive launched to celebrate PM Modi’s birthday and wrapping up on Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2. It focuses on public service, like the special CATS ambulance that Gupta flagged off earlier this week to strengthen health services in Delhi. With these moves, Delhi’s push for better urban living is gaining real momentum.
