Delhi police are digging deeper into allegations against Chaitanyananda Saraswati, a man accused of molesting 17 students at a Delhi institute. Investigators believe he lured the victims with fake job promises, taking advantage of his position of trust.
DCP South West Amit Goel shared updates with on Tuesday, explaining that a thorough probe is underway. “We’re gathering solid evidence against him and questioning him closely,” Goel said. He pointed out that three women—former institute staff who were close to Saraswati from the start—played key roles. Police are now grilling them to clarify their involvement. These women are sisters: Shweta, the dean, and Kajal and Bhavana, the wardens.
Saraswati tried to stay under the radar. He used an international phone number for chats and checked into a hotel under his old name to avoid detection. That’s where police nabbed him. On his phone, officers found lewd messages, secret photos of female students, and screenshots of display pictures with air hostesses. There’s also evidence of chats where he manipulated women by dangling airline job offers.
The discovery gets even more troubling—Saraswati had an app on his phone that let him access the hotel’s CCTV cameras, sparking questions about his motives. Goel stressed that police will take strict action against anyone involved, no matter their role.
So far, Saraswati shows zero remorse. Delhi police say he’s stonewalling during interrogations at Vasant Kunj North Police Station, giving evasive answers and lying repeatedly. He only opens up when hit with hard evidence and tough questioning. Two of his female associates are now detained and facing him directly in sessions that started Monday and continued today.
The FIR filed by the victims names those three women, and police recovered chats from Saraswati’s phone that show him trying to lure more women with job bait. This sexual harassment case in Delhi has exposed a pattern of predatory behavior, and the fraud angle is also under scrutiny as the investigation presses on.
