Tragic Accidents Rock Bengaluru: Two Laborers Dead in Site Collapse, Student Killed by Truck
In a heartbreaking turn of events in Bengaluru, two daily wage laborers lost their lives when a construction site collapsed on them Tuesday. Police confirmed the victims as 33-year-old Lal Madan and 30-year-old Rajauddin, both from Jharkhand. They got trapped under heavy debris and couldn’t be saved despite rescue efforts.
A third worker, Saifullah, also suffered injuries in the same mishap but is now stable and receiving medical care at a local hospital. "He’s out of danger," authorities said.
The Madiwala Police are leading the investigation into the construction site accident in Bengaluru. Deputy Commissioner of Police Sarah Fathima noted that teams are probing the exact cause of the collapse and checking safety measures for other workers on site. All three men were earning a living as daily wage workers in the city, far from their homes in Jharkhand.
Just hours earlier that day, another fatal incident unfolded on Bengaluru’s roads. A 22-year-old student named Tanushree died after a tipper truck ran her over near Budigere Cross. She was riding her bike and swerved to dodge a massive pothole on Kempegowda International Airport Road when the tragedy struck.
This road accident in Bengaluru happened under the watch of Avalahalli Traffic Police Station. The truck driver sped away after hitting her, but police have identified him and plan to arrest him soon.
These back-to-back Bengaluru accidents have sparked outrage over the city’s crumbling infrastructure, especially the pothole problem plaguing Bengaluru roads. Opposition parties are slamming the ruling Congress government for what they call major administrative lapses in road safety. Meanwhile, state ministers insist the issue is overblown and point fingers at the previous BJP administration for the poor road conditions. As investigations continue, calls for better safety measures in Bengaluru grow louder.
