Delhi’s Arjun Prasad grabbed the halfway lead at the INR 1 crore Tamil Nadu Open 2025, firing a steady two-under 70 to total four-under 140 at the Coimbatore Golf Club. The 28-year-old, who started the day in third place just one shot off the pace, now holds a one-shot edge after two solid rounds of 70.
Bangladesh’s Jamal Hossain, who shared the overnight lead, slipped to second at three-under 141 with an even-par 72 on Wednesday. The recent Hyderabad winner posted three birdies and three bogeys in windy conditions that challenged everyone on the course.
Pune’s Pranav Mardikar stole the show with the day’s low round of 69, jumping 11 spots to tie for third at two-under 142 alongside Ahmedabad’s Anshul Patel, who carded a 71. Delhi’s Anshul Kabthiyal also matched that hot 69 to sit fifth at one-under 143.
Overnight co-leader Gaurav Pratap Singh struggled with a 79, dropping to tied 20th at four-over 148. Chennai’s S. Prasanth became the only Tamil Nadu pro to advance, finishing his second round with a 71 to join Singh in that spot at four-over.
The cut fell at eight-over 152, with 52 professionals moving on to the weekend in this PGTI event. Arjun, second in the 2025 PGTI Order of Merit and hunting his first tour win, kicked off with a bogey on the first hole. He bounced back with two birdies and one more bogey on the front nine to turn at even par. The back nine went smoother, where he drained two 15-foot birdie putts.
“I kept the ball in play most of the day,” Arjun said. “I missed a few greens early but created chances later and nailed some key par saves. The pins were tricky, so positioning on the right side mattered. Playing with or against the wind was key in these conditions, and I handled it well today.”
