In a heart-pounding Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 clash, the Jaipur Pink Panthers pulled off an epic comeback to edge out the Haryana Steelers 37-36 at Chennai’s SDAT Multi Purpose Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
The defending champions from Haryana stormed ahead early, building a commanding 10-point lead. But under coach Narender Redhu—seeking revenge after losing to the Steelers in last season’s PKL final with Patna Pirates—the Pink Panthers ignited a furious rally. They exploded for 17 points in the final quarter, flipping the script in one of the most thrilling kabaddi matches of the season.
Sahil Satpal led the charge for Jaipur with seven raid points, while Ali Samadi added six crucial scores. Aryan Kumar and Deepanshu Khatri each notched four tackles to anchor the defense. On the Haryana side, Vinay’s Super 10 raids and Rahul Sethpal’s High 5 tackles kept them in the fight, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the late surge.
Haryana wasted no time, as Vinay kicked off the scoring and Neeraj Kumar tackled Jaipur’s Nitin Kumar to grab an early edge. Deepanshu struck back with a tackle on Vinay, and Ali Samadi dazzled with a strong raid. But the Steelers ramped up the pressure—Vinay’s Do-or-Die raid pushed them to a three-point lead, and Rahul Ahri shut down Nitin again. Shivam Patare’s two-point raids sealed a 10-4 advantage after the first 10 minutes.
Jaipur fought hard, landing Super Tackles to narrow it to 11-8. Ashish Narwal’s raids slowed their push, though. Rahul Sethpal’s tackle triggered the game’s first All Out, sending Haryana into halftime with a 20-13 lead.
The second half started strong for Haryana, with Vinay raiding again and Sethpal adding his third tackle for some cushion. Aryan Kumar answered with a Super Tackle and another stop to keep Jaipur close. As the pace dipped, the Pink Panthers chipped away to 24-20, thanks to Deepanshu and Sahil. But Haryana regrouped—Sethpal hit his High 5, stretching the lead to 26-20 before the final quarter.
The last 10 minutes turned into a nail-biter, with both teams refusing to yield. Haryana clung to a 30-26 edge, but Ali and Sahil sparked Jaipur’s momentum. Sahil’s two-point raid sliced the gap to one with under a minute left. As the Steelers tried to run out the clock, Nitin Rawal delivered a game-changing tackle on Vinay for an All Out, handing Jaipur a slim lead.
In the dying seconds, Vinay snagged a bonus point on his final raid, but Deepanshu tackled him to seal the two-time champions’ stunning victory. This PKL Season 12 thriller shows why kabaddi keeps fans on the edge of their seats.
