Delhi Police nabbed two suspected shooters in a tense early-morning encounter in New Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj area on Thursday, foiling what they say was a plot to target a social media influencer.

The two men, identified as Rahul and Sahil, worked for notorious gangsters Rohit Godara, Goldy Brar, and Virender Charan, according to police. Officers from the Delhi Police Counter-Intelligence team got a tip that these suspects—linked to a recent Haryana triple murder case—were cruising near New Friends Colony. They set up a trap along Pushta Road in Kalindi Kunj.

Around 3 a.m., the pair sped toward the road on a bike. When police signaled them to stop, the shooters opened fire instead. Cops fired back in self-defense, hitting both in the legs. Rahul and Sahil surrendered right away and now face arrest.

Police say the duo had spent days scouting potential targets in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Paramedics rushed the injured men to a hospital for treatment, and investigators continue to dig deeper into the social media influencer murder plot and ties to the gangsters.

In a separate clash, Uttar Pradesh police wounded and captured a wanted criminal during a late-night shootout in Kushinagar district. The man, Sugriva Kushwaha, carries a rap sheet for animal smuggling and violations under the Gangster Act.

The action unfolded near Ghoraghat bridge in the Chaurakhas police station area. Local SWAT teams, along with Chaurakhas and Patharwa officers, got word that Kushwaha was hiding nearby. They moved in to check the area and tried to halt a suspicious biker.

Kushwaha pulled a gun and shot at them, but police returned fire, striking him in the leg. They arrested him on the spot and seized a pistol, cartridges, a motorcycle without license plates, and 630 rupees in cash. He’s now getting medical care as the probe moves forward.

These back-to-back encounters highlight ongoing police efforts to crack down on gang violence and wanted fugitives across India.
