Indian Army troops from the Gajraj Corps sprang into action Thursday, saving 13 civilians from a scary bus crash in Arunachal Pradesh. The incident happened near Baisakhi in Tawang district, where the vehicle tumbled into a valley with passengers aboard.
Defence spokesman Lt Col Mahendra Rawat shared details of the quick response. “Our soldiers showed incredible bravery and teamwork,” he said. They rushed to the scene, pulled everyone to safety, and even provided on-the-spot medical help to treat injuries right away. This kind of “service before self” spirit highlights how the Indian Army steps up not just in battles, but in everyday emergencies too.
The rescue highlights the army’s strong commitment to protecting lives across India. Troops from the Gajraj Corps truly embody heroism, always ready when time is critical.
In a separate tragedy nearby, a massive landslide in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district claimed two lives and hurt three workers on Wednesday. The slide struck a construction site in Lapnan Village, burying five laborers under mud and debris caused by earth-cutting work.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu praised the fast response from Assam Rifles, the Central Reserve Police Force, State Disaster Response Force, and local villagers. They worked together to dig out the trapped workers.
Sadly, two young men didn’t make it: Pangkai Sankioam, 25, and Jaong Pansa, 18, both from Kamhua Noksa village in Longding district. Officials confirmed the injured received quick care, underscoring the risks of construction sites in hilly areas like Arunachal Pradesh.
These back-to-back incidents show the vital role of emergency teams in tackling road accidents and natural disasters in remote regions.
