In a thrilling Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 clash, Puneri Paltan edged out Bengaluru Bulls in a tie-breaker to secure a 6-4 win after a gripping 29-29 draw during regular time. The match, held at Chennai’s SDAT Multi Purpose Indoor Stadium on Thursday night, marked the second time this season these rivals needed extra play to decide a winner—and Puneri Paltan claimed another victory, boosting them to the top of the points table.

From the opening minutes, both teams traded blows in a tense battle. Puneri Paltan, missing star raider Aslam Inamdar, still started strong. Defender Abinesh Nadarajan kicked things off with the first tackle, while raiders Aditya Shinde for Puneri and Aashish Malik for Bengaluru found early points. Bengaluru’s Alireza Mirzaian shone with quick raids, keeping his side close.

Puneri Paltan took control around the 13th minute when their defense triggered the game’s first All Out by downing Akash Shinde, giving them a slim lead. They carried a 12-9 advantage into the next phase, with Abinesh Nadarajan anchoring the backline and Aditya Shinde adding steady raids. Bengaluru fought back through Aashish and Akash, narrowing the gap, but Puneri held firm. At halftime, they led 17-13 in a matchup that stayed razor-close.

The second half kept the excitement high as Puneri Paltan mixed smart raids with solid tackles. Gurdeep and Gaurav Khatri stepped up big, including a standout Super Tackle on Alireza Mirzaian. Bengaluru pushed hard with Aashish Malik’s raids, and Puneri’s Aditya Shinde and Pankaj Mohite faced some tough moments, but the defense held. After 30 minutes, Puneri led 22-19.

Drama unfolded late when Bengaluru mounted a comeback. Raiders Alireza and Ganesha Hanamantagol chipped away, and defender Yogesh landed key tackles. The Bulls then hit Puneri with an All Out around the 33rd minute, grabbing a three-point lead—their first of the night. Puneri bounced back quickly, with Aditya Shinde and Pankaj closing the distance, and Abinesh Nadarajan making crucial stops to keep it tight.

As the final raid ended, both teams stood at 29-29, forcing a tie-breaker. Puneri Paltan stayed cool under pressure. Pankaj Mohite and Aditya Shinde struck early raids, while Gaurav Khatri and Abinesh Nadarajan locked down defense. Despite Bengaluru’s late push, Puneri sealed the narrow win, completing a season double over their rivals in PKL Season 12.
