Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah heads to Haryana this Friday for a packed schedule, kicking off India’s biggest dairy production plant and unveiling development projects worth Rs 825 crore in Rohtak and Kurukshetra.
A state government spokesperson shared the exciting details on Thursday. To boost the cooperative sector, Shah will launch the new Sabar Dairy Plant at IMT Rohtak, built at a cost of Rs 325 crore. This cutting-edge facility features top-notch machinery that Shah will officially start up.
The Sabar Dairy Plant stands out as India’s largest hub for curd, buttermilk, and yoghurt production. It can churn out 150 metric tons of curd, 3 lakh liters of buttermilk, 10 lakh liters of yoghurt, and 10 metric tons of sweets every day. Even better, it promises direct and indirect jobs for around 1,000 people, giving a real lift to the local economy.
Shah’s visit to Rohtak also includes a stop at the ‘Khadi Karigar Mahotsav’ at Maharshi Dayanand University. There, he’ll hand out tool kits to 2,200 artisans. Organized by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission under the Ministry of MSME, the event carries the theme “Swadeshi Se Swaavlamban,” focusing on self-reliance through homegrown crafts.
During the festival, Shah will distribute modern machinery and more tool kits, plus Rs 301 crore in margin money through the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). This push highlights indigenous handicrafts and the Khadi industry, with plenty of local artisans joining in to showcase their skills. He’ll also inaugurate new PMEGP units and speak to the crowd afterward.
Over in Kurukshetra, Shah will open a five-day exhibition on India’s new criminal laws. This interactive display helps lawyers, students, parents, and everyday folks grasp the latest reforms in the criminal justice system. It spotlights key changes and successes from the laws, breaking down the contributions of seven government departments across 10 themed sections.
