Born in 1920, Tiwari built an extraordinary career in law and politics. He started as a Pradhan and District Head before becoming a two-time MLA. From 1986 to 1990, he served as Speaker of the Rajasthan Assembly, guiding debates with fairness and deep knowledge of parliamentary rules. Earlier, he acted as Deputy Speaker from March 1985 to January 1986. Tiwari also sat on key committees like the Home Committee and Privileges Committee, always promoting integrity and balanced leadership.

People remember him for his dignified approach to politics and his commitment to Rajasthan’s growth. “Tiwari set a true example of a disciplined life full of public service,” many admirers say.

His funeral rites take place on Friday in his ancestral village of Bidyari in Bayana. Family, friends, and leaders from various political circles plan to gather and pay their respects.

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot led the tributes with a heartfelt statement. “The news of former Assembly Speaker Girraj Prasad Tiwari’s passing is deeply saddening,” Gehlot said. “He lived a wonderful life to 105, and even at that age, his energy and sharp memory brought joy to everyone. He showed special affection and blessings toward me. I pray for peace for his soul and strength for his family.”

Tiwari’s legacy lives on as a symbol of humility, dedication, and strong leadership in Rajasthan politics. From his early roles to his time as Speaker, he inspired generations with his focus on ethical governance and community development. The state feels the loss of this experienced statesman whose influence spanned over seven decades.
