New Delhi, Oct 4 — Union Home Minister Amit Shah told a crowd in Goa that the Diwali holiday should be a celebration of Indian-made goods. He urged 140 crore Indians to embrace swadeshi and ditch foreign products, saying the collective resolve would help India become “supreme.”

After launching the Mhaje Ghar Yojana and laying foundations for new projects, Shah addressed a public meeting near Panaji. Goa’s Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Union Minister Shripad Naik and Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade were also present.

The Mhaje Ghar Yojana is more than a government scheme—it’s a pledge to give Goans clear ownership of homes tangled in legal disputes. Shah explained that the plan will resolve 11 different legal complications and let farmers and tenants proudly say, “This is my house. It is truly mine.” He called it a big step toward empowering half the state’s residents.

Speaking in support of national development, Shah reminded listeners that Goa’s ongoing projects are moving fast. “Where the BJP has won elections in Goa, the Congress once called the state too small,” he said. “But every citizen in India counts. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of a developed Bharat by 2047, Goa could become fully developed as early as 2035‑2037.”

He also highlighted a recent fiscal move: the government has abolished income tax for earnings up to ₹12 lakh. This benefit supports citizens and encourages local growth. Shah urged Chief Minister Sawant to keep boosting initiatives like Swayampurna Goa, an initiative to resolve citizens’ issues quickly. He said Goa should aim to become the first fully developed state in the country.

The public event in Goa combined celebration and policy, with Amit Shah encouraging citizens to buy local and support national growth.
