A huge blaze tore through a warehouse in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, on Sunday night, police said. The fire began at around 9:45 pm, and firefighters on the scene said the entire building was aflame within minutes. The owners were working on a clothing and chemical storage unit when the fire broke out.
Firefighters from nearby Kalyan and Ulhasnagar rushed to help. “We arrived to find the whole godown on fire,” said Wazeer Patel, a senior fireman. “There were no casualties, and we were able to save the neighboring warehouses.” No injuries or fatalities have been reported so far.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Police and fire officials are looking into how a warehouse holding chemicals and garments caught fire. Once the investigation concludes, details will be released. The incident highlights the risks of storing flammable materials in large warehouses in the region.
