Mumbai, Oct 6 – Bollywood veteran Jackie Shroff marked the 79th birth anniversary of the late superstar Vinod Khanna. On Instagram Stories, Jackie shared a photo‑collage of the iconic actor, often called the “Sexy Sanyasi,” and wrote, “Always in our hearts #Vinod Khanna.”
Shroff also celebrated 19 years since the 2006 supernatural comedy “Bhoot Unkle” hit the screens. He posted a short clip from the film and captioned it, “#19yearsofBhootUnkle.” The movie, directed by Mukesh Saigal, follows a young boy who befriends a ghost‑pirate who uses his powers to protect their town from a villain.
Vinod Khanna began acting in 1968 with supporting and villain roles before topping chart‑busters like Haath Ki Safai, Amar Akbar Anthony, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, and Qurbani in the 1970s. After a brief break, he returned in Insaaf (1987) and later earned acclaim portraying fatherly characters in blockbusters such as Wanted and the Dabangg series. The actor passed away in April 2017, leaving a lasting legacy in Hindi cinema.
Looking ahead, Jackie Shroff will next appear in the action‑comedy Welcome To The Jungle. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film stars big names like Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, and Raveena Tandon, among others, making it a high‑profile project in Bollywood’s lineup.
The tribute from Jackie not only honors a legendary co‑star but also reminds fans that the magic of “Bhoot Unkle” continues to resonate two decades later.
