A shocking incident has surfaced from Bidar district in Karnataka, where a school teacher reportedly sexually assaulted a minor girl student. The incident happened in Humnabad, and the teacher has now been arrested by police.
According to the police, the 14-year-old girl, a Class 9 student at a private school, was threatened and blackmailed by the teacher using her private photos. The girl revealed that the teacher had captured her nude photos during a video call and had used these to threaten her. He allegedly told her he would harm her family if she refused his advances.
The case came to light after the girl’s parents noticed her distress and took her for counseling. During her sessions, she opened up about what had happened, and her father immediately filed a police complaint. The police then registered a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case and launched an investigation.
There are some concerns about delays in reporting the case. Police sources mentioned that the girl’s father might have faced pressure, which caused the wait in lodging the complaint. Authorities are now carefully examining all aspects of the case.
This is not the first such case in Bidar recently. Earlier in August 2023, a government primary school assistant teacher was booked under the POCSO Act for marrying a minor girl. Similarly, in July 2024, another teacher from a government school was arrested after the girl’s father filed a complaint.
Authorities are taking these cases seriously and are working to ensure justice for the victims. The police continue to investigate the incident thoroughly and are warning against abuse of any kind towards children.
