Jaipur, Oct 8 – MP Hanuman Beniwal of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) has called for a full investigation into a deadly crash that turned the Jaipur‑Ajmer National Highway into a roaring inferno. The accident involved a chemical‑laden tanker and a truck carrying LPG cylinders.
Beniwal shared his thoughts on social media, saying, “I pray for the soul of the person who tragically died and wish swift recovery for everyone who sustained burn injuries.” He added that the incident might have been avoided if the Rajasthan Road Transport Office (RTO) had acted differently. According to media reports, the driver lost control when an RTO official stepped in at the scene—a claim Beniwal says matches a pattern of RTO missteps.
“This is not the first time the RTO’s conduct has allegedly caused deaths,” Beniwal told reporters. “Just a few months ago in Dausa, four family members died because of a similar RTO error.” He calls the crash a “systemic failure” and demands that the state government launch a thorough probe into all highway accidents involving RTO officials.
The MP urged Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma to take the matter seriously and to talk with the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). He wants the government to create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for transporting hazardous materials such as chemicals and LPG. He also demanded that RTO officials stop random stops of trucks on highways and that vehicle checks happen only at safe, designated locations. Beniwal urged authorities to end the unnecessary harassment of truck drivers.
“If the government truly investigates this pattern, more cases of accidents caused by RTO misconduct will surface,” he said. Beniwal tagged @BhajanlalBjp, @MORTHIndia, @NHAI_Official, and @RajCMO, calling on them for immediate action to prevent future tragedies.
The tragedy has sparked calls across Rajasthan for tighter safety checks on highway transport and clearer protocols for handling hazardous cargo. The government’s response will likely set a precedent for roadway safety in the state.
