In a vibrant push for health and fitness, Aravalli district in Gujarat was buzzing with activity this Sunday as hundreds of residents hopped on their bicycles for the ‘Sundays on Cycle’ event. The initiative is part of the popular Fit India Movement and saw an incredible turnout from all sections of the community.

Led by District Collector Prashasti Parik, the cycling event aimed to spread a powerful message about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, environmental consciousness, and making cycling a regular habit. The streets were filled with enthusiastic participants, including school students, senior citizens, local officers, and members of various social organizations.

Speaking about the initiative, District Collector Parik said the program draws direct inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s vision for a fitter India. "Inspired by the Prime Minister’s Fit India campaign, we launched this initiative with the people of Aravalli," she told reporters. She also highlighted that the event supports PM Modi’s ‘Obesity Free India’ mission, making it a fun and impactful weekly routine, regardless of the season.

Modasa Mayor Neeraj Seth also joined the ride and emphasized how the program has grown since it began earlier this year. He noted that such initiatives are crucial for building a healthier society and encouraging people to adopt a safer lifestyle.

Along with promoting fitness, the district administration also stressed the importance of road safety, reminding all cyclists to wear helmets and adhere to traffic rules during the event.

The overwhelming response from the community has turned ‘Sundays on Cycle’ into a lively and much-anticipated weekly tradition, bringing people together for a common cause—building a fitter, healthier, and obesity-free India.
