Delhi Police busted a wanted killer in a high‑profile Meerut murder case after a brief shoot‑out in the Rohini area on Thursday.
The arrest came after police tracked “Hamza,” the man accused of driving a 12‑second video‑recorded murder that rocked social media. In the clip, the victim, Adil from Lisadi Gate, was shot three times in the chest at point‑blank range. Hamza was later found, wounded in the leg, and detained by the Delhi Crime Branch.
During questioning, Hamza admitted that he and a crew had rushed Adil’s home, dragged him into a nearby jungle, and shot him. He also said he had once fired on another suspect, Wasi, earlier this year. His partner, Julkmar, was arrested after a short exchange of gunfire with Meerut police, but Hamza slipped away and has been on the run.
In a separate operation, Delhi’s South‑East precinct and the Gurugram Crime Branch hit a notorious gangster, Bhim Mahabahadur Jora, in an armed encounter at Aastha Kunj Park, east of Kailash, on the night of Oct. 6‑7. Acting on a tip, an operation team converged on Jora at midnight, engaging him in a firefight. Jora was shot five times and taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Jora had a long list of interstate crimes, including six murders, dacoity and burglary cases across Delhi, Gurugram, Gujarat and Bengaluru. Police seized an automatic pistol, a live round, empty cartridges and burglary tools from his possession. Investigators are now probing his network and other associates.
Both cases highlight the Delhi Police’s active stance against violent crime and cross‑state criminal networks. ()
