Mumbai – Vishal Dadlani, who joins the new season of Indian Idol as a judge, recently praised Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for his unique way of owning a song.
The upcoming show kicks off under the nostalgic theme Yaadon Ki Playlist, a title that instantly brings memories of SRK’s iconic on‑screen performances. When asked which actor defines the theme, both Vishal and singer Shreya Ghoshal pointed straight to Shah Rukh Khan.
Vishal said, “Nobody carries songs like Shah Rukh Khan.”
He added that whenever a film involves him, the music must match SRK’s powerful presence. “The sound must stand up to his performance on screen,” he explained.
Shreya echoed the sentiment, calling SRK a true magician whose real life and on‑screen persona feel different yet strikingly special. “Love SRK,” she chirped.
Indian Idol is India’s take on the BBC’s Pop Idol, first airing on Sony Entertainment Television in 2004 and continuing to enthrall music lovers across the nation. The new season will debut on October 18 and can be watched live on Sony Entertainment Television or streamed on Sony LIV.
