The first‑ever grand show of Mera Desh Pehle—a theatrical look at India’s transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi—took place this week in Gandhinagar’s GIFT City. The performance unfolded a life story that began in Vadnagar, where Modi’s early years were shaped, and climbed to the heights of his time as India’s prime minister, a period marked by national pride and ambition.
The show charted Modi’s journey from a student in Vadnagar to a political leader who led key movements across the country. Viewers saw his leadership in the Somnath‑Ayodhya Rath Yatra and the Ekta Yatra to Kashmir, where he famously hoisted the tricolor at Lal Chowk amid security threats. The drama also captured Operation Sindoor and the realization of the Ram Mandir dream, blending striking visuals, stirring music, and powerful acting to keep the audience engaged.
More than 200 artists, including film star Akshay Kumar, brought the stage to life under the direction of writer, producer, and presenter Manoj Muntashir. The production aimed to show not just a cultural display but a movement of national consciousness, according to the Chief Minister’s office.
Heads of government and industry watched the performance. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, BJP State President Jagdish Vishwakarma, state cabinet ministers, and business leaders like Pankaj Patel, Pranav Adani, the Torrent family, and Assocam’s Chintan Thaker were present. Senior officials, including Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, also attended.
Youth and social leaders poured into GIFT City in large numbers. Their enthusiasm highlighted that Mera Desh Pehle is more than a show; it signals a new ideology embraced by young Indians. The performance, part of a nationwide tour, showcases how the "Nation First" slogan has become a cultural movement under Modi’s leadership. Residents of Gujarat and around the country actively join to celebrate this vision of a new India.
