Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, fired back at RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday, questioning his recent pledge to give every family in Bihar a government job.
Kishor told that, “If we believe him, the RJD has already created 4‑5 lakh jobs in 18 years. Now he wants to create 3 crore jobs in two years. Either he is a fool or he’s fooling the people.”
Yadav made the promise on Oct 9, saying that within 20 days of forming the Mahagathbandhan government a law would guarantee a job for every household in Bihar. The declared plan follows his claim of 5 lakh jobs during his 17‑month spell and an effort to counter the long‑running criticism that RJD voters receive only unemployment allowances.
The upcoming assembly elections in Bihar are set for Nov 6 and 11, with votes counted on Nov 14. Kishor said he would run from Raghopur—a key Vaishali constituency that has seen power shifts among Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav. He warned that seat‑sharing is no longer the goal; instead, parties are fighting over corruption and loot. “If I contest from Raghopur, people there must stand with me,” Kishor said. He urged voters to pick leaders with no corruption otherwise they risk “living in bad conditions for the next five years.”
The ragged promise of 3 crore jobs in two years, combined with RJD’s historical record, has raised doubts among supporters. RJD has often been accused of failing to deliver on employment and of handing out corrupt contracts instead of productive jobs. Critics say the party’s long‑term plan hinges on political favors rather than genuine development.
Kishor’s shocking remarks echo across the state, especially in Vaishali, where the Raghopur seat holds symbolic weight. Former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi also served as key representatives of the constituency. Their legacy continues to influence election dynamics.
For voters in Bihar, the coming weeks will reveal whether Prashant Kishor’s call to reject corruption will resonate enough to secure a seat, or if Tejashwi Yadav’s job‑guarantee promise will dominate the headlines. As the dust settles, the electorate will ultimately decide whether they want a new approach to jobs and governance or to rely on a familiar but disputed record.
