Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde praised India’s strong response to a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, saying the country has sent a clear message to Pakistan through Operation Sindoor. He urged political parties to put national security above vote‑bank politics and called on everyone to support law and order.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has answered Pakistan’s threats in the best way,” Shinde said. “Pakistan has learned its lesson. All parties should focus on safeguarding our nation instead of chasing votes.” He added that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is fully equipped to tackle terrorism and Naxalism across India.

Operation Sindoor started on May 7 after a bomb blast in Pahalgam that killed 26 people. The operation targeted Pakistani terror networks operating in the Kashmir region and hit key infrastructure in Pakistan’s airbases. Indian forces repelled further aggression and damaged several Pakistani weapon sites.

Speaking earlier this month, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh explained that the Indian Air Force destroyed 12–13 Pakistani combat aircraft, including four to five F‑16s on the ground and five F‑16s plus JF‑17s in flight, as well as two spy planes. The Descent to reach these jets was achieved with the Long‑Range Surface‑to‑Air Missile (LRSAM) S‑400 Triumf “Sudarshan Chakra” system. He also confirmed that the IAF damaged Pakistani airbases, destroying radars, command centres, runways and even a surface‑to‑air missile system.

After India’s decisive strike, the Pakistani Defence General Staff contacted its Indian counterpart to agree on a cessation of hostilities. The operation underscores India’s commitment to regional security, the rule of law, and the protection of its citizens from terror threats. ()
