Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, spoke in Raghopur on Saturday and asked voters in Bihar for a fresh political choice. He said that leaders in the state have become fed‑up because there are no real alternatives, and that this complacency has let corruption and lack of accountability slide.
Kishor said, “The leaders who are winning don’t fear losing if they don’t work. Because there were no other options, people kept voting for Lalu Prasad Yadav or the BJP.” He added that Jan Suraaj offers a new path and that Biharis will be more careful with their votes next time.
He urged the public to vote for themselves and for a better future for their children. “Until the people vote for their own interests there will be no relief,” Kishor told . He criticized the “politics of sharing corruption” in Bihar – a time when leaders hand out money, favors and contracts instead of jobs or roads.
Kishor also talked about his own potential run from Raghopur. “If I decide to contest, the people of Raghopur must support me. I will present everything at tomorrow’s party meeting,” he said. He warned voters that if they keep backing corrupt leaders, they will have to live with the results for the next five years.
Bihar’s assembly elections are scheduled for November 6 and 11, with results expected on November 14. Raghopur, in Vaishali district, is historically important. It has been represented by Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, and their son Tejashwi Yadav – all key figures in the Rashtriya Janata Dal. The seat has seen strong patronage politics and promises of grain or small cash, according to Kishor.
As voters prepare for the polls, the Jan Suraaj Party’s message is clear: Bihar needs accountability, new leadership, and a break from caste‑based, corrupt politics. The choice lies with the people, and Kishor believes that this election could be the turning point.
