Bengaluru, Oct 13 – Bengaluru‑based space‑tech company GalaxEye announced Monday that it plans to launch its debut “Mission Drishti” satellite in the first quarter of 2026. The craft will be the world’s first multi‑sensor Earth‑observation satellite that carries both synthetic‑aperture radar (SAR) and high‑resolution optical cameras on a single platform.
“We’re unlocking a new era of actionable data from space,” said Suyash Singh, GalaxEye’s co‑founder and CEO. “Putting these sensors together lets us view the planet in ways that were impossible before, and it opens a world of applications for governments, businesses, and communities.”
With a launch mass of 160 kg, Mission Drishti will be India’s largest privately built satellite and the highest‑resolution one the country has made. The satellite will rise from a 500‑km orbit, delivering images with a 1.5‑metre pixel size even when clouds block the sky or daylight is scarce. Its dual‑sensor design makes it useful for border security, disaster relief, infrastructure maintenance, agriculture, and financial risk analysis.
Mission Drishti is just the first of a planned constellation of 8‑12 satellites that GalaxEye will add gradually until 2029. The company hopes the fleet will provide near‑real‑time Earth‑observation that powers a new range of services worldwide.
The curated satellite underwent rigorous testing at ISRO’s UR Rao Satellite Centre (URSC). Engineers verified its resilience to extreme temperatures, vibration during launch, and the vacuum of space, ensuring it can perform reliably once it reaches orbit.
This launch will further cement India’s place on the global space map and establish a new platform for turning space technology into reliable intelligence. GalaxEye’s Mission Drishti is set to make Earth‑observation data constantly accessible, regardless of weather or time of day.
