The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is turning Bihar into a political battleground as it launches a four‑day nomination campaign from October 15 to 18. The drive is designed to energise voters, fine‑tune candidate lists and showcase the alliance’s unity ahead of the state’s key elections in 2024.

Amit Shah’s high‑profile visit

At the heart of the campaign is Union Home Minister Amit Shah. From October 16 to 18, Shah will tour Bihar, kicking off rallies and meeting BJP leaders in every district. His speeches are expected to set the tone for the weeks ahead, weaving national themes with local priorities. Shah’s presence signals that the NDA is serious about winning votes, not just slots on the ballot.

Zones of activity

Bihar has been split into zones, each led by senior NDA figures who will oversee nominations and rally local support. Every district will stage its own political spectacle—heavy‑weight leaders, decorated rallies, strategy sessions, and grassroots meetings. The campaign team is busy coordinating logistics, messaging and outreach to keep the energy high.

National powerhouses on the ground

The move has attracted more than a dozen chief ministers from across India and several Union ministers. Their arrival underscores the NDA’s intent to combine state‑level momentum with national backing. These high‑profile visits also aim to inspire local cadres and remind voters that the alliance has a full national network behind it.

Beyond nominations

While the campaign includes the procedural work of finalising candidates, it is far more than a paperwork task. It is an all‑out mobilisation: audio‑visuals, social media blitzes, street‑level canvassing and televised speeches. The NDA’s strategy meetings, held behind closed doors, are geared to align messaging, allocate resources and anticipate opposition tactics.

What voters can expect

If you’re in a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stronghold, you will likely see banners, music and the roar of party supporters. In opposition‑led areas, the rallies will try to sway undecided voters with promises of development and strong governance. The presence of central leaders is a confidence booster for the party’s base.

The race is on

With the countdown set, Bihar is poised to see a fast‑paced, coordinated political push from the NDA. The four‑day nomination drive showcases the alliance’s readiness to battle not just for seats, but for public imagination. As the state rallies around its candidates, the energy feels palpable—and it may well shape India’s 2024 election landscape.
