UEFA unveils multi-market tender for 2027–2031 club competition rights

UEFA has opened a new, multi‑market tender for the commercial rights to its club competitions that will run from 2027 to 2031. The move follows last year’s announcement that the organisation would seek fresh allies for the Champions League, Europa League and the new Europa Conference League.

What does the tender cover?
All rights that go beyond the televised matches – from sponsorship deals and branding opportunities to digital media and on‑site activation. Any package that includes any or all of those elements can be submitted for bidding.

Why now?
UEFA wants to maximise revenue for its clubs while ensuring the competitions stay competitive and fan‑friendly. By opening the tender to several markets – mainly Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East – the governing body hopes to tap new fans and sponsors who are eager to get in on European football.

How will it work?
Corporate partners will review UEFA’s terms and present proposals in a structured format. The organisation will examine the offers, compare them against expected revenue targets, and award contracts to the bidders that call the most value for money while meeting UEFA’s audience and branding standards.

Who could be interested?
Major global brands that already sponsor games – like Nike, Coca‑Cola, and Amazon – as well as emerging agencies and regional media groups seeking a foothold in European football. The opening of the tender also invites companies with a strong digital presence, given UEFA’s focus on online engagement.

Key dates

  • Tender launch: October 2025
  • Proposal submission deadline: January 2026
  • Final awards will be announced early 2027, in time to kick off the next club competition cycle.

For fans and businesses alike, the tender signals a shift in how European football will be marketed and commercialised over the next few seasons. Keep an eye on UEFA’s official announcements and prepared offers as the global football community gears up for the 2027–2031 era.
