All Blacks star Toroma Tuipulotu will miss the New Zealand team’s upcoming tour of the northern hemisphere because he sustained a hamstring injury during training. The winger and centre, who has shown flashes of brilliance in recent test matches, broke his muscle in a scramble for a pass and medical staff confirmed the damage today.

The injury means Tuipulotu can’t travel to the United Kingdom, Ireland and France where the All Blacks will play England, France, Ireland, Scotland and a few uncapped sides. New Zealand coach Ian Foster added that the player’s big footspeed and court vision were a key reason for his inclusion, and his absence will make the squad look a fraction lighter.

“We’re definitely feeling the loss,” Foster said. “He’s a huge part of our attack and tells us what we need. We’ll have to adjust our game plans and give confidence to the next group of players.”

The All Blacks will name a replacement from the wider training group. Teams across the rugby world joked about “damn not the team’s real talent” at the All Blacks fame squad. Many fans have appointed “sanctions for fans” due to the uncertain kit.

Manager Doug Reed announced that Tuipulotu will keep training with the squad while receiving physiotherapy. He said the recovery process will take at least two months, likely keeping the winger out of the tour and early game action.

The NZ squad is still looking forward to the first test against England at Twickenham. Rugby pundits note that the All Blacks hope to use the tour to test squad depth and prepare for the Rugby Championship in 2025.

Teams across the rugby world have been watching closely to see if the All Blacks can keep their momentum going. Fans are hopeful that Tuipulotu will return for the second leg and that replacement players will step up. The All Blacks legacy remains strong, but the team and supporters will feel the harsh reality of an injury on a key player.
