Chennai, Oct 14 – Chennai‑based music composer Santhosh Narayanan revealed he’s worked with global star Ed Sheeran on a new track. On X (formerly Twitter) the composer posted the line, “Ed Sheeran – Dhee – HanumanKind – Santhosh Narayanan. Proud to have produced and performed this one,” sparking excitement among fans of both Tamil and international pop.

The announcement comes just days after Narayanan said he’s starting a dream project: an ultra‑transparent, affordable music‑streaming platform built in India for listeners worldwide. He promised the service would give artists fair payouts and low subscription costs, and he plans to launch hackathons to spot fresh talent. “We’ll keep artist payouts and affordable subscription (if any) at the forefront,” he wrote, adding a call‑out for creative names.

Narayanan’s track record is a mix of hit Tamil and Telugu film scores. He recently scored “Thalaivan Thalaivi,” starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen, and put music to Karthik Subbaraj’s “Retro,” featuring Suriya and Pooja Hegde. His work has earned him a reputation for supporting independent musicians and pushing for industry transparency.

Not new to the scene, Narayanan also launched Rakitaa Entertainment last year, a venture aimed at speeding up musician careers and giving them a reliable platform. “I arrived in Chennai in 2004 as a 20‑year‑old musician, hungry to break into the industry,” he said in his launch post. “Early struggles taught me the need for a space that eliminates long wait times. That’s why Rakitaa Entertainment exists.”

The venture focuses on ownership transparency, fair payments, and long‑term artist support. With a new state‑of‑the‑art studio in the works, Rakitaa Entertainment is set to become a creative playground for artists across India. The founder’s recent collaboration with Ed Sheeran and his streaming platform plans suggest he’s ready to blend Tamil, Telugu, and global music into one accessible ecosystem.
