England’s women’s national team has announced its lineup for two upcoming friendly matches, highlighting key players such as Stella Kelly and Lucy Bronze. The squad, unveiled by coach Sarina Wong, will face two European opponents later this month as the side prepares for the next stage of international competition.

Kelly, a midfield dynamo from Manchester United, and Bronze, a veteran full‑back crowned with multiple UEFA Women’s Champions League titles, earned spots among the 23 players selected. Both athletes bring experience and skill to a team that has been reshaping its core after last year’s World Cup.

The friendlies are set to take place on 27 August against France and on 1 September against Sweden. These matches give the coaching staff a chance to fine‑tune tactics and give fresh legs a chance to play in front of fans before the next major tournament.

Coach Wong praised the players’ performance in training camps and highlighted the blend of youth and experience. “We’ve got a strong group that can adapt to any challenge,” she said. “Stella’s creativity and Lucy’s defensive solidity are exactly what we need as we target success in the coming years.”

Fans are already excited about the mix of talent in the lineup. Staggered rosters will test the squad’s depth as England aims to build momentum for future fixtures, including qualifying matches for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.

For the 21‑year‑old midfielder, the call‑up signals a pivotal moment in her international career. “It’s an honour to represent England again,” Kelly said. “I’m ready to give my all for the team.”

Bronze, who has now made more than 150 appearances for England, emphasized the importance of staying focused. “We’re looking at these friendlies as a chance to sharpen our play,” she added. “The season is fast approaching, and we’ll keep working hard.”

With the group confirmed, England’s women’s squad head toward the friendlies in full confidence. The matches will serve as a vital testing ground as the team aims to strengthen its line‑up and secure a top position in future tournaments, including the next Women’s World Cup and the UEFA Women’s Nations League.
