Nicki Minaj is now facing the possibility of losing her $20 million Hidden Hills mansion after a legal battle over an unpaid assault claim.
The dispute centers on Thomas Weidenmüller, who says he was punched in the jaw by the rapper’s husband, Kenneth Petty, during a 2019 concert in Germany. Weidenmüller says the attack left him with a fractured jaw that required eight surgeries and five plates to repair. In 2022, a court awarded him $503,318 for his injuries under a default judgment.
“We’re owed more than $500,000,” Weidenmüller’s attorneys write in court papers. They argue the money was never paid, even after multiple written demands and attempts to levy his creditors. In an effort to collect the debt, the attorneys have asked a Los Angeles judge to place Minaj’s 11‑bedroom home on the market.
The property, a luxury estate in Hidden Hills, California, is appraised at about $20 million. It carries a $13.26 million mortgage lien and a $722,151 homestead exemption, leaving roughly $6 million in equity. That sum is said to comfortably cover the judgment, interest and any enforcement costs.
“We have more than enough to satisfy the judgment and still have millions left over,” a senior attorney told reporters. “Nicki is a global music star with a net worth between $150 million and $190 million. She can pay this debt, so why hasn’t she?”
Minaj’s representatives have not yet responded to inquiries. Earlier coverage by US Weekly and Page Six highlighted the dispute and the alleged assault. Minaj, who married Petty in October 2019 and welcomed a son in September 2020, has faced criticism over her handling of the case.
The court’s decision to put the property for sale could force the $20 million estate to change hands unless the parties reach a settlement. If the house sells, the proceeds will address the $500,000 debt, plus interest and legal fees, according to Weidenmüller’s team.
This case adds another high‑profile dimension to the ongoing legal battles that many entertainment industry figures face, blending personal disputes, business assets and public scrutiny. Whether the mansion stays in Minaj’s ownership or passes to a new buyer remains to be seen.
