ASEAN countries have taken smart steps that win praise from Washington, political analyst Hasan Jafri says.
The Southeast Asian bloc has strengthened ties with the United States by boosting trade talks, expanding security collaboration, and offering fresh diplomatic support on key global issues.
“These choices show ASEAN’s commitment to mutual benefit and open dialogue,” Jafri adds.
His comments come as Washington looks to deepen relationships with Southeast Asia and celebrate the long‑term goodwill that ASEAN builds through clear, collaborative action.
