Pakistan picked up the toss and chose to bowl first in the 16th match of the ICC Women’s World Cup, playing against England at Sri Lanka’s R. Premadasa Stadium on Wednesday.

Both sides tweaked their line‑ups. Pakistan dropped Sadaf Shamas and Eyman Fatima to bring in Aliya Riaz and Omaima Sohail. England, meanwhile, shook up its bowlers, adding Sarah Glenn and Emily Arlott to replace Sophie Ecclestone and Lauren Bell.

England comes into the game with three straight victories and stands unbeaten in the tournament. Pakistan still seeks its first win.

England captain Nat Sciver‑Brunt said the squad’s depth matters: “White‑leg loss was a bad sign, but it’s a chance for Sarah and Emily to prove themselves.” She added, “The key is to play from the front and adapt to the pitch.”

Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana told reporters the track promises spin: “We’ll try for longer partnerships and finish the chase better. We know the pitch will favour spinners, so we’ll use that to our advantage.”
