Mumbai, Oct 15 – Bollywood icon Salman Khan quietly attended the funeral of the late actor Pankaj Dheer on Wednesday. The star, dressed in a simple olive‑green shirt, walked into the cremation grounds at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, west Mumbai, to offer condolences to Dheer’s family.
Pankaj Dheer, best known for his iconic role as Karna in the epic TV series Mahabharat, had shared the silver screen with Salman in films like Sanam Bewafa and Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge. Their son, Nikitin Dheer, who has appeared alongside Salman in Ready and Dabangg 2, also expressed his grief.
The ceremony was attended by several film and television colleagues, including actor Mukesh Rishi, who stood quietly with the group. News outlets reported that Dheer, 68, died after a battle with cancer. Social media was filled with tributes: Arjun Feroz Khan posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, and the official CINTAA (Cine & TV Artists’ Association) account shared a note mourning the loss of a respected industry veteran.
Pankaj Dheer leaves behind his son Nikitin, who continues to make a name for himself in Bollywood. The industry and fans alike remember him for his contributions to Indian cinema and television.
